I spent most of the day out doing a bathroom remodeling project. We tore down all the sheetrock from the ceiling, removed all the old tile, went to buy the materials for the job, and removed the old plumbing. I'll be going back tomorrow morning to continue the job until I have to go to class.
We are going with a sort of industrial look, so we bought some tin sheets for the walls. Originally, we were going to use sheetrock for the ceiling; instead, we are going to use OSB and sheet metal for the ceiling. The shower is still in flux right now. It looks like it's going to be a tile shower. Even though the tin reflects light, we will be using a light tile for the floor to brighten it up a little. We won't be using tin in the shower due to concerns about corrosion. It's not so much the water; rather, there may be some interactions between the galvanized tin, the screws, and the copper tubing. So, to play it safe, we'll just tile it.
I will be working on cutting through the floor tomorrow to make a channel for the shower drain. We are changing from a tub to a shower, so there is a difference in the plumbing. I also need to put up the boards that will hold up the tin. I'll also be installing the copper tubing for the sink, toilet, and shower. It reminds me that I need to go buy some more materials.
Well, I'm tired tonight, so I'm going to be early. Hope you had a good weekend.
