1st Annual Party in the Parking Lot at Mission Regional Medical Center

The first annual Party in the Parking Lot event held at the Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Texas. The event featured a large Zumbathon for participants, who exercised for two hours.

The event included tables from local vendors, live mariachi music, and even a surprise visit from some of the players of the Dallas Cowboys.

The event was a collaboration between the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce and The Foundation at Mission Regional Medical Center to benefit the Sexual Assault Forensic Examination (S.A.F.E.) Program at MRMC.

Gilberto Hinojosa on Texas Tribune

I think Gilberto Hinojosa completely wrong. He's a nice guy; but, he's wrong. The Democrats are losing ground precisely because they are too far left.

He suggests moving further left by giving lefties "red meat". But, you deserve to see both sides of the argument. He mentions the 3 G's on the part of the Republicans. Flip that around and what does that mean? He wants to eliminate guns, wants gay involvement in EVERYTHING (whether you want it or not), and wants to eliminate God. It's the opposite of what he says Republicans represent, right? Of course, these are red herrings. The real issue is jobs, the economy, and whether you think socialism will make things better.

Now that I think about it, it's probably better that Democrats vote for him as State Chair. The farther left the Texas Democrats go, the more fringe they become, thus ensuring victories for Republicans. The crazy Democrats are Republicans' best friends.

If you doubt me, pay attention to what kind of Democrats win in the upcoming election. You'll see that they are conservative or moderate Democrats. They'll win, help the party out; then, once things get underway, the party will turn and run opponents against them for not being Democrat (socialist) enough. It's ridiculously predictable.

The gist: There is NO PLACE for moderate or conservative Democrats in the party. You are either a ultra-liberal, or a super-liberal. All others need not apply.

CANDIDATE: Jaime Tijerina for Justice of 13th Court of Appeals, Place 4

Over the weekend, I learned that Jaime Tijerina is running for Justice of the 13th Court of Appeals, Place 4. What makes the story interesting is that Jaime is currently deployed to Afghanistan. He announced his candidacy before being sent overseas; but, his brother Thomas Tijerina continues to campaign on his behalf.

If you want to find out more about the candidate, visit http://www.jaimetijerina.com or call 956-458-6086. This should be one of those interesting stories in the news if you help him win this election.

Try the Fish Tacos at Courtyard Cafe in Mission, Texas

I stopped by the Courtyard Cafe in Mission, Texas to pick up a router that was giving me an error message. I thought I'd pick up a sandwich to go while there. Looking at the menu, I saw Fish Tacos; so, I changed my mind and stayed to have lunch there.

When my order arrived, I was a little surprised. The tacos were beautiful. Of course, good looking doesn't necessarily mean good tasting. Well, in this case, they were delicious. I even forgot to drink tea until I was done eating.

Courtyard Cafe is located at the corner of Bryan Road and FM 495 (Griffin Parkway) in Mission, Texas. It's around the back of the doctors' offices. Best kept secret in Mission.
