BLOOD!

Now that I got your attention, if you're passing by UTPA this week, United Blood Services is at the Library taking blood donations. Having been the recipient of blood after a hit and run as a high school student, I donate blood whenever the opportunity presents itself. I haven't given yet as I've been tied up doing other things, like finding work. But, I will be giving blood during this drive.
 
I urge you to help out the community by donating blood. You never know when you might need it, and the only way they get it is by donation. Plus, I hear that KURV has a Plasma TV giveaway to a lucky donor at another blood drive somewhere. How can you go wrong with a plasma TV?

I commendate the effort and will swing by to donate. However, it is unacceptable that the Utd. Blood Services doesn't have a generator for its facility and is so vunerable to a burnt transformer.

The cost of the new blood drive would of more than paid the cost of a generator. Let's be more practical!

It's that time of year again when Winter Texans start to make their way south from the northern states. I have already had phone calls with a Winter Texan client who is getting ready to come down. I think it is fascinating that we can make friends from people who are visiting only seasonally.  Looking at the blog stats, I seem to get a peak in traffic every year. The Mad Mexican

Years ago, there used to be a DJ at B104, a local radio station. Until recent years, B104 had a large audience. They played pop music. The Mad Mexican used to do the morning show with Gary Rodriguez, who is now involved in McAllen politics. Well, the Mad Mexican is still working, but on a national level. I heard him this morning on Aguila, XM 92. Aguila is the Mexican music station on XM Satellite Radio. It's great to hear from him again. He's still pretty wild. Gary Rodriguez? He worked for 107.9 for a while before going to KURV and then entering politics.
