McAllen Tea Party January Jewels

Upcoming This January From
McAllen Tea Party Association
Dear Shaine,
 January is busy this year, so read on and see what's coming up.

Next week is our first meeting of 2010 and will be our election of officers, so plan to come Tuesday, Jan. 12th, 7:00 PM at Christian Fellowship
Church, 2201 Trenton Road in McAllen.   Voting is for members only, so come early and join MTP and support our Tea Party movement.  (See more on Membership below.)

One of our members sent this opportunity for an online course on Constitution Classes for anyone who might be interested:

Dear HSLDA Members and Friends:

Registration is still open for the 2010 spring semester of
Constitutional Law Online! This course is taught by Michael Farris,
Chairman of Home School Legal Defense Association and Chancellor of
Patrick Henry College.

The class began January 4, 2010, and concludes June 7, 2010. But it is
not too late to sign up! If you've always wanted to learn more about
the history and background of our legal system, from a biblical
perspective, or if you're looking for a good U.S. government class for
your homeschooled students, then this class is for you!

This 18-week Internet-based course follows Michael Farris' textbook,
"Constitutional Law for Enlightened Citizens," and uses a
computer-based audio CD to deliver the "classroom" lectures. The
syllabus lists the reading and listening assignments for each week and
offers a flexible schedule for homework. Every two weeks, students can
participate in a live chat-room discussion--hosted by Michael
Farris--to pose their questions and discuss the material. Twice during
the class, students will submit essay exams for grading. A certificate
of participation will be awarded to all students at the end of the
class.

Tuition is $250 for HSLDA members and $275 for non-HSLDA members,
which includes the required textbook and CD-ROM. There is also a
sibling discount as well! For more information, or to register, visit
the class website at
http://conlaw.hslda.org .

Registration closes next week, so sign up today!

An added note  is that Art Cohan from HTP has consented to come to McAllen to teach his Constitution Class, so stay tuned for for further information on that.

McAllen Tea Party

Meeting: AARP Alternative
Denny's on 107 in Edinburg close to Jackson Road
7:00 PM
Tuesday, Jan. 19th
There will be a presentation for anyone interested in hearing an alternative to AARP insurance.  Invite friends .  Coffee will be served free of charge.

**This is NOT sponsored by McAllen Tea Party Association.  MTP is merely sending out the invitation to interested people.

 Important 2010 Election Dates

 See this link to see some very important dates for
Elections 2010

http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/2010dates.shtml

Please note that Feb. 1st is the final date to register to vote for the March 2nd  primary.  Early voting begins Feb. 16th and ends Feb. 26th. Filing deadlines are also given.

Contact Senator Ben Nelson and urge him to vote NO on cloture. According to the Nebraska governor, his NO vote would stop the Health Care bill.  You might also let him know you oppose the Health Care bill in any form.

Tea Party Support & The National Conservative Symposium
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tea Party Support is pleased to announce the National Conservative Symposium
at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas,
January 23rd and January 24th, 2010.
Please join us for two days in San Antonio, Texas for grassroots activist
training, discussions about our proprietary national contacts database,
secure email system and the voter roll project, which will obtain the
national voter roll of over 200 million names for multiple uses including
comparison to the Social Security Death Index with the goal of preventing a
common source of voter fraud in this country.  It also includes a get out the vote campaign with volunteers for poll watchers and election officials.  Attendees should be tea party, 9-12 supporters and concerned members of the GOP.
Our goal is to not only get out the vote and take our country back to
Conservative values in government, but to break the back of election
corruption.
Tea Party Support has been focusing on the fight for commonsense health care
reform and is fighting tirelessly against the government takeover of health
care coming from Washington.  Even as this battle continues, our
organization is already preparing to fight against cap-and-trade, the attack
on the privacy of the ballot booth and many other pressing issues. Please
join us in our effort to restore Constitutional governance, fiscal
conservatism and accountability from our elected representatives.
Your registration will include three nights at the Hyatt Regency Hill
Country Resort & Spa, meals, general attendance to all break out sessions
AND keynote addresses by Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham,
Michelle Malkin as well as the kick off party hosted by Kevin Jackson, the
emcee of the event.  Attendees with also have access to all resort facilities
(Windflower Spa and the 27-hole championship golf course are extra). All for
only $749.
There are also sponsorship opportunities available including vendor tables,
meeting rooms, speaking schedules, funding scholarships for the handicapped,
and meals and receptions with VIPs.  Many other sponsorship opportunities
exist and a personalized package can be created on a case-by-case basis.
For those interested in sponsorship opportunities please call Matt Perdue,
CEO of Tea Party Support.  He can be reached at 210-532-6503.
