The National Weather Service is forecasting very cold temperatures across Cameron County between Thursday night & Sunday morning with temperatures falling into the mid to upper 30s.
The City of Port Isabel is offering shelter at the Port Isabel Police Department (Court Room) at 110 Hickman St. starting on Thursday, January 7, at 6 p.m. through Sunday morning for those needing a warm place to stay.
Those who will partake in this offer will need to bring the following:
- Blankets, pillows, sleeping bags
- Food – (non perishable food including cold cuts, chips, canned goods non-microwaveable)
- Identification
- Personal medication
- No pets allowed except for service animals
