Mission CISD to host free H1N1 flu vaccination clinic for district students

Sick Child Mission CISD (Consolidated Independent School District) will host a free H1N1 vaccination clinic provided by the Hidalgo County Health and Human Services Department for Mission CISD students. The clinic will be held Wednesday, December 2, 5:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m., at the Veterans Memorial High School Cafeteria. The campus is located on Two Mile Road at Mayberry Drive. Patients are asked to enter the campus from gates on Mayberry.

The Hidalgo County Health and Human Services Department will be following the guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and vaccinations will be given to the priority groups of children. Parents must be present.

Priority group: Mission CISD students, ages 6 months to 24 years.

It is highly recommended that children with the following chronic health conditions be vaccinated: lung problems such as asthma, heat problems, liver problems, blood problems, nervous system problems, muscular problems, metabolic problems like diabetes, immunodeficiency or immune-suppression.

Parents should contact their child’s health care provider if they have any questions about the H1N1 vaccine.
