MHS BPA students qualify for state competition

Outstanding business students from Mission High School (MHS) will be traveling to Fort Worth, Texas to participate in the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference in early March.

MHS chapter members (pictured left to right), Maritza Rincon, Hilda Hernandez, Ricardo Franco, and Yadira Garcia will join over 2,500 other conference delegates from across the state to participate in state level business skill competitions, general sessions, and the state officer candidate campaigns and elections.

The students qualified for the state conference based upon their performance at a recent regional leadership conference.  Rincon placed first in the advanced spreadsheets competition.  Hernandez, Franco, and Garcia placed first in the presentation management team competition.  Garcia also placed first in the fundamental accounting area.

BPA is a national organization for middle school, high school, and college students preparing for careers in business and office occupations.  The organization's activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through application of the skills learned at school.
