McAllen Tea Party: Early Voting Starts Today!!!

Early Voting Starts Today!
Dear Shaine,

Early voting begins TODAY.  We sent out sample ballots for both the Republican and Democratic parties, as well as polling places for Hidalgo County.  If you did not receive the newsletter, let us know and we will resend that information to you.   You can also go to the Secretary of State's website at: https://team1.sos.state.tx.us/voterws/viw/faces/SearchSelectionPolling.jsp
 for your county's information.

If any of you would like to see more on the firestorm between Col. Ray adn Eddie Zamora, we will be sending a link out in the next day or two from The Advance Newspaper in Pharr.  Greg Wendorf, the editor, says they have interviewed both Col. Ray and Eddie Zamora, as well as an article written by Tom Haughey, Republican Party Exec. Director.
Stay tuned for more on our signs.  Juan has a Spanish translation of Reagan's quotes and we have some signs from other patriots that we will send along.  Now, we just need a sign-making party!!!

Nancy Pelosi Coming to Laredo This Friday!!!

Eric Cabello at Laredo Tea Party sent this email from Chris Bowling to tell us that Nancy Pelosi is coming to Laredo this Friday.  The Laredo Tea Party is planning to meet her as she arrives.  LTP isn't a large group, so I'm wondering is there are any of us here in the RGV Tea Parties that would like to go up to Laredo and help them greet her.  If so, let me know, so I can tell Chris we have some RGV patriots coming to join them.  Here's his email:

ATTENTION...........Speaker of the House NANCY PELOSI will be in LAREDO, TX. on Friday at 6:00pm at the Caballero Reception at the Laredo Civic Center on 2400 San Bernardo Ave.

Laredo TEA Party will take the lead on this welcoming rally!  I will be in contact with other organizations as I encourage others to spread the word and they will be contacting Chris Bowlin to shepherd this flock.

Please meet immediately to plan the "Welcoming Rally".  We will need everybody's input.  Call the McAllen TEA Party, Call the Boerne TEA Party, Get in touch with every TEA Party in Texas.  In Laredo, we are few, but we are fierce and not afraid to let our voices be heard.  This is the PERFECT opportunity to try to help open the eyes of fellow Laredoans.  Laredo is a CONSERVATIVE town but somehow is run by the Democrats who are kow-towing to their liberal leaders.  Don't count on the media covering this "Rally".  We need to have our own documentation of pictures and video.  Please call Chris Bowlin @ 956-500-6601.

Fall 2024 in the RGV

It's that time of year again when Winter Texans start to make their way south from the northern states. I have already had phone calls with a Winter Texan client who is getting ready to come down. I think it is fascinating that we can make friends from people who are visiting only seasonally.  Looking at the blog stats, I seem to get a peak in traffic every year. So I suppose it must be partly due to many of our friends coming back from up north.  Image generated by Gemini 1.5 Pro AI Speaking of seasons, we still have a couple of months to go before the end of hurricane season for 2024. We have been fortunate this year, compared to other parts of the USA. Although, south Texas could use the rain.  This time of year makes me happy as we finally have nights that are below 78F like we had all summer. This week we have had mornings in the 60s. While we still have hot days in the 90s, we at least get some respite in the evenings, leading to cool mornings.  Returning to RG...

The Mad Mexican

Years ago, there used to be a DJ at B104, a local radio station. Until recent years, B104 had a large audience. They played pop music. The Mad Mexican used to do the morning show with Gary Rodriguez, who is now involved in McAllen politics. Well, the Mad Mexican is still working, but on a national level. I heard him this morning on Aguila, XM 92. Aguila is the Mexican music station on XM Satellite Radio. It's great to hear from him again. He's still pretty wild. Gary Rodriguez? He worked for 107.9 for a while before going to KURV and then entering politics.
