Hidalgo County Offers You a Clean Slate

Hidalgo County is offering people who owe outstanding fines to Justice of the Peace courts a clean slate by making a payment on their collection website . Anybody who owes money to the JP courts is not able to renew their license or use other services unless the fine is paid. Rather than pile on to people who may be having trouble making payments, Hidalgo County is offering this easy to use payment option to give people the opportunity to wipe the slate clean in terms of late payments. Hidalgo County reports that they have roughly $35 million in unpaid fines still outstanding. This is an effort to both help the public and make it easier to collect on these receivables.
